An Interventional Radiology fellowship is an additional year of intense, focused study and practice of image-guided procedures using special instruments that operate in and out of the body.

Dr. Shawn Ahmed is a board certified radiologist specializing in Vascular & Interventional Radiology. Dr. Ahmed began his medical career at Creighton University in Omaha, NE where he performed cancer research from 1999-2008. He earned a Ph.D. in Bio-Organic Chemistry in 2004 from Creighton University School of Medicine’s Department of Biomedical Sciences. He subsequently received his M.D. at Creighton University School of Medicine in 2008. Dr. Ahmed performed his internship at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN in 2008 followed by a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Minnesota Medical Center where he trained from 2009-2013. He subsequently performed a fellowship in Vascular Interventional Radiology at Harvard Medical School’s world-renowned Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.

Throughout his education, training, and career, Dr. Ahmed has been very active in the medical community through his key involvement in several peer-reviewed journal publications, abstracts, and presentations.

Dr. Ahmed is married with five children. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, hiking and traveling.

Dr. Arthur Donahue is a board certified radiologist specializing in Vascular & Interventional Radiology. He received his DO at Des Moines University – Osteopathic Medical Center. He continued his training at Michigan State University/Henry Ford Wyandotte in Wyandotte, MI, where he received his Radiology Residency training. He then completed Fellowship training at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA.

Beginning his medical career as a PharmD, Dr. Donahue brings a unique perspective to his work as a physician. He has been very active in the medical community through his participation in numerous publications and research projects as well as various medical society involvement.

On a personal note, Dr. Donahue enjoys running, golf, pheasant hunting, skiing, reading, rock climbing and aviation.

Dr. Nathaniel Doro is a board eligible radiologist specializing in Interventional Radiology. He earned his DO at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine before completing his Residency in Integrated Interventional Radiology at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY.

Throughout his education and training, Dr. Doro received numerous honors and awards, including induction into Sigma Sigma Phi National Honor Society. Dr. Doro has contributed to several publications and scientific presentations. He has also been an active participant in multiple clinical trials focused on arterial embolization and treatment of pulmonary embolism.

As an outdoor enthusiast, Dr. Doro looks forward to enjoying the Colorado lifestyle.

Dr. McMurry is a board-certified radiologist specializing in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. He earned his DO at Oklahoma State University College of Medicine in Tulsa, and continued his training at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Medicine in Little Rock, where he received his Radiology Residency training. Dr. McMurry received his Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology at University of Colorado.

Throughout his education and training, Dr. McMurry received numerous honors and awards, including induction into Sigma Sigma Phi National Honor Society and multiple scholarships. Further, Dr. McMurry has contributed to several publications and scientific presentations as well as sharing his expertise through volunteer, leadership, and teaching roles.

On a personal note, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons, dirt biking, mountain biking, and skiing/snowboarding.

Dr. Geeta Grewal is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology, and received a CAQ in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. She is a graduate of the University Of Kansas School Of Medicine, where she was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and earned her MD.  She did both her Diagnostic Radiology residency and fellowship (Vascular and Interventional Radiology) training at University of California Los Angeles Medical Center.

Dr. Grewal has over 13 years of professional experience in Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Imaging and Diagnostic Radiology. Additionally, she is fluent in conversational and medical Spanish.

Her interests are traveling, watching NFL football, spending time with family and watching movies of all types.

Dr. Peder E. Horner is a Board Certified Radiologist specializing in Vascular, Interventional and Diagnostic Radiology.  Dr. Horner completed his undergraduate degree (BS, Genetics) at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS.  Dr. Horner obtained his M.D. at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, KS. His Diagnostic Radiology residency education was obtained at the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR.  Following radiology Board Certification, he chose to pursue a Vascular and Interventional Radiology fellowship at the esteemed Dotter Interventional Institute at Oregon Health and Science University. He has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Vascular and Interventional Radiology.

He has strong clinical interests in interventional oncology (including Yttrium 90 radioembolization and tumor ablation), uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), acute and chronic DVT management, Prostate Artery Embolization (PAE) for enlarged prostate (Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy/BPH), and peripheral vascular disease. He is also part of a select multi-disciplinary group of specialized physicians  at the Denver Clinic for Extremities at Risk treating osteosarcoma with their unique intra-arterial chemotherapy protocol. Dr. Horner was recently voted by his peers as one of Denver’s Top Doctors in 5280 Magazine.

Dr. Horner currently resides in Denver, Colorado. An avid cyclist, he races competitively year-round, including road, mountain bike, and cyclocross disciplines in Colorado and nationally. He can also readily be found skiing, hiking, and camping with his wife and two school-age children. Dr. Schott is board certified in Interventional and Diagnostic Radiology. He earned his MD at Northwestern University in Chicago and continued his training with Radiology Residency and Interventional Fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

As a recent President of a Denver physician group, Rocky Mountain Radiologists, Dr. Schott comes to us with great experience in the private practice setting and in working with the various elements of the local hospital environment.

Illustrating his academic side, Dr. Schott co-authored a May 2020 article in Pulmonary Medicine. His extra efforts in patient care were acknowledged with a hospital-wide “Best Catch to Prevent Harm” award for the year 2018.

In his free time, Dr. Schott pursues outdoor activities such as running, golf, and exploring Colorado’s mountains. He also travels whenever possible and has visited almost all 50 states and close to 30 foreign countries.
